Slovenia Walking Tour

A walking holiday for fans of alpine scenery and panoramic vistas. The highlights of this walk are the famous Lake Bled and Jasna Lake, along with Mountain Triglav National Park. A dedicated mountain tour through a dreamlike, picturesque landscape. Suitable for hikers of very average fitness and highly recommended for photography enthusiasts.

Day 1
Check-in at Dublin airport for flight to Venice Treviso. Coach transfer to Hotel Spik in Gozd Martuljek for 7 nights, dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day2
Sunday morning free in Gorz Martuljek to explore this beautiful alpine town. Afternoon walk from Kranjska Gora by the Pisnca river to the Hotel Erika. Return via Jasna Lake and through the forest via Drcev Rut. An easy introductory walk of approx. 10km.

Day3
Walk via Vizem, the Olympic Ski Slope in the Planica Valley, Nova Kreda and the Triglav National Park to Tamar. Return via Stara Kreda to Kranska Gora. An easy level walk to Vizem, then a gradual climb of 290 meters through Planika Valley and the Triglav National Park. Walk 22km.

Day 4
Local bus to Hrusica. Following the course of the Sava River, we walk back to Gozd Martuljek via Mojstrana. A walk with a modest 200 meter incline over the 15km.

Day 5
This morning we travel by coach to Lake Bled, Where we enjoy an optional boat trip to the island and try ringing the "Wishing Bell". After our boat trip we walk around the perimeter of Lake Bled. With some free time to explore the surroundings of Lake Bled with its many cafe's and shops and restaurants before we return by coach to Gozd Martuejek. Easy walk of approx. 12km. Dinner is NOT included this evening. Option for group to visit the local Chinese restaurant.

Day 6
Walk via Podgoren and Redece along a combination of tarmac and forest roads to reach our goal of Pec (Peace Mountain) - where the three countries meet - Slovenia, Italy, and Austria, and enjoy the fabulous views. After enjoying a Picnic lunch on Pec return to Kranjska Gora.. Today's walk, partly on paths and partly on road, is described as moderately demanding, and rising to 690 meters - 20km. Well worth the effort for the views at the peak. After dinner we visit the local Casino.

Day 7
Our final walk is in the Robe Sekanje chain, overlooking the Sava Valley. This is a gentle forest hill walk, with a climb of 200 meters. Walk 17km. Afternoon free in Kranska Gora. Final dinner at Hotel.

Day 8
Coach transfer to Venice Treviso for return flight to Dublin.

It is our intention to follow the itinerary as outlined above, however due to many factors like local holidays, traffic or weather conditions it may be necessary to make changes to the order of events or even the cancelation of certain events.
